Our Pastor, Rev. Deborah Strait's

Miraculous Healing from RSDS

What started out as only a compound wrist and arm fracture developed into a crippling, painful progressive disability for Deborah Strait after a fall on June 17, 1993. Pins had been surgically placed and after her cast had been removed, it was soon discovered that her arm was not healing properly. She experienced unusual swelling and a burning sensation in her hand and arm and was unable to use it as she should. By September, 1993, three months later, she was diagnosed with RSDS "reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome." RSDS is an incurable crippling disease which affects the blood vessels, nerves, bones and muscles of your body.  For periods of time, the arm would get bright red, swollen and very hot. Sis. Strait continued to pastor with burning pain that has been regarded as twice as potent as that suffered by cancer patients.   The pain was now through her entire right arm, shoulder and neck. She had severe migraine headaches accompanied by all the symptoms and major side effects from the treatments of this disease.

Then, several months later, after she was involved in an automobile accident, the disease began to spread down her right side, across her shoulders and then down her left side.   The pain and the tremors were more severe.  She began to rapidly deteriorate to the point of where she became dependent upon braces for both legs, crutches, and then a wheelchair.  She was taking anywhere from 18 to 20 pills a day.  Her body, racked by pain, now needed assistance for most of life's simple chores.

Although her health continued to fail and her body was crippling, she continued to pastor her church and minister to the needs of her friends and family. She still maintained her faith in God as a healing God. She continually proclaimed that "I am healed .. God's Word says so .. my body is just too dumb to catch up with the idea." On October 1, 2000, while worshipping in a small church in Bedford, PA, the manifestation of her healing took place.   During praise and worship there was a message that went forth - a message from the Lord that said, "My healing is here for you."  Sis. Strait said in her heart, "Okay, Lord, I know I'm healed but if my healing is to be manifested tonight, then you let them come lay hands on me and pray for me."  Then the Pastor and his daughter came over to pray for her. He placed his hands on both her braces.  She'll never forget what he said "spirit of infirmity and spirit of death -- I command you to lose and let go!"   He continued to pray and Sis. Strait continued to pray.  Sis. Strait made three attempts to get out of her pew, but then on the fourth, she suddenly jumped out of her pew and danced the whole way around that little church.  She knew she was healed!  The Lord miraculously and instantly healed her body at that moment.  On the following Tuesday she talked to her doctor and asked him if he was sitting down because she had something to tell him.  "I'm running," Sis. Strait told her doctor. "What did you say?" he asked.  She said, "I'm running -- no braces, no crutches.  God healed me."  Her Doctor told her that this was medically impossible.  He arranged an appointment for two days later at which time her doctor asked her to walk around the room on her toes and then walk on her heels.  She did.  He then took all her medication from her and recorded on her chart  "miraculously healed!" and she hasn't seen him since.

This is only a brief part of her testimony.  Sis. Strait has experienced many other miracles in her life.  Some years prior, Sis. Strait was also healed of a lung condition.  At that time she was dependent upon taking intermittent breathing treatments as she stood behind the pulpit preaching the Word of God.  Sis. Strait ministers under a great anointing of God and we are sure you will be strengthened and blessed by her. She and her husband, Art, are dedicated to a loving service and reach-out ministry. She has served as a guest speaker at several women's conferences and retreats in several denominations. Sis. Strait has also counseled and ministered to hundreds of young women who were drug addicts, gang members, abused and homeless.  Although she continues to pastor in Hustontown, PA, she also is available to evangelize, speak at conferences and retreats and share her personal testimony. She can be contacted by e-mail or at the address and telephone number below.

Prayer Power

I almost lost a precious friend,

God nearly took her home,

How I pleaded, how I begged,

How I prayed He would postpone.

God had His very hand on her,

And, of course, God's claims come first,

But, He was bombarded with requests,

To leave her here on earth.

So God, I think, had second thoughts,

He saw she was loved so much,

He smiled then, upon my friend,

And released His gentle clutch
